Lizard is a Chrome extension designed to help users improve their focus and productivity by tracking session activity, focus percentage, and time spent on tasks. We take your privacy seriously, and this policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Information We Collect

Lizard does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email, or location. The extension only collects minimal, non-sensitive data required for its core functionality:

User Activity (local only): Tracking mouse movement, keyboard activity, and tab interactions to calculate focus and productivity scores.
Storage Data: Session statistics are stored locally in your browser to provide session history and performance insights.

How We Use the Data

To calculate your focus percentage and provide insights into your productivity.
To maintain a history of your past sessions (stored only on your device).
To deliver optional reminders and notifications about your focus sessions.

All processing is done locally on your device. Data is never transmitted to external servers.

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any third parties. All session and activity data remain private and confined to your local browser storage.

Permissions Justification

The extension requires certain Chrome permissions for its single purpose of tracking focus and productivity:

tabs: To detect when the active tab changes during focus sessions.
storage: To save and retrieve focus session history locally.
notifications: To send session start, end, and reminder notifications.
idle: To detect when the user is inactive.
alarms: To schedule and manage focus timers.
activeTab: To run scripts in the active tab when a session starts.
scripting: To inject necessary scripts for tracking tab activity.

These permissions are used solely for the extension’s functionality and not for any unrelated purposes.

Remote Code

This extension does not use remote code. All scripts are packaged directly within the extension and run locally in your browser.

Data Retention

Data is stored only locally on your device.
You can clear your session history anytime by uninstalling the extension or clearing extension storage in Chrome.

By using Lizard, you agree to this privacy policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue using the extension.
